January 7 20111 lake Lanier Fishing Report

Fishing continues to be strong on Lanier using umbrella rigs. The live bait bite has been slow. The good thing about the umbrella rig is you might catch two at a time like in the photo. This is happening all the time. The fish are tight together on the humps and points. The weather looks a little rough early next week but hopefully after that things will make a turn for the better. Don't forget the big fish bite is just around the corner. As soon as a few warms days tart to show up and the water temperature gets in the low fifties the big fish will be on the prowl. we will be pulling some big baits. Actually the biggest baits we can find. Quality over quantity will be the rule.

On another note, just finished up putting some bamboo out for the crappie. Crappie time is also right around the corner. Spring will be here before we know it. See you soon,
