Lake Lanier Fishing Report May 26, 2010

The downline bite has started on Lake Lanier. The topwater bite was gone before it got started. With the recent hot weather fishing has improved even more. From now until the end of September is the peak of fishing on Lake Lanier. On some days we have been running out of bait by 10a.m. The bulk of the fish have been under 10 pounds but a big fish has been showing up every now and then. The spotted bass have been with the stripes as well. Now is a great time to get the kids out or older people who do not like the summer heat. The spots will continue to be in the same areas until the stripers pull out into the deeper water. Right now, the fish have been 20 ft deep on the points on the north end and the south end.
